Benefits, Time-Off and Leaves

Where applicable your offer letter indicates your eligibility to enroll in Columbia’s benefits. You can find a list of benefits available to Officers, Support Staff and Postdocs on Columbia’s HR website. You will also learn about your benefits options during your new hire orientation.

As a new hire, you may enroll in benefits within 31 days of your start date. Changes to your benefits selections can only be made during Open Enrollment in the Fall, or due to qualified life status changes.

If you have any questions about your benefits, you may contact the Columbia Benefits Service Center.

Paid Time Off:

Columbia’s HR website provides an overview of the accrual rates for vacation time and personal days for administrative positions. Officers of Instruction or Research can find information about paid time off in the Faculty Handbook.

Your title will also determine your eligibility for the various types of leaves Columbia offers. You can find more information on Columbia’s HR website. If you have any questions about Leaves, please reach out to ISERP.
