Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans

Each Fellowship supports up to one to two years of graduate study in any field and in any advanced degree-granting program in the United States. Each award is for up to $25,000 in stipend support (not to exceed $40,000), as well as 50 percent of required tuition and fees, up to $20,000 per year, for one to two years.

Aseees Dissertation Research Grant

The Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies is sponsoring up to ten grants annually, at a maximum of $5000 each, for the purposes of conducting doctoral dissertation research in Eastern Europe and Eurasia in any aspect of Slavic, East European, and Eurasian studies in any discipline.

Institutional Project Support Program

This annual program is designed to encourage innovative and sustained growth of Japanese studies in the United States. Each institution should formulate convincing proposals that enhance the teaching of Japan, the quality of research on Japan, the quality of equipment and materials (including libraries), and provide opportunities for students and faculty to travel to Japan.

Note that the foundation limits each university to one proposal.

International Visiting Fellowships

CRASSH Visiting Fellowships are designed to support the Centre's research interests and activities. Depending on the Fellowship, Fellows are usually given office accommodation in the Centre and, where appropriate, funding towards travel, as well as certain practical assistance in their research.

Melvin Kranzberg Dissertation Fellowship

The Melvin Kranzberg Dissertation Fellowship is presented annually to a doctoral student engaged in the preparation of a dissertation on the history of technology, broadly defined. This award is in memory of the co-founder of the Society and honors Melvin Kranzberg's many contributions to developing the history of technology as a field of scholarly endeavor and SHOT as a professional organization.

Fernand Braudel Senior Fellowships

Fernand Braudel Senior Fellowships provide a framework for established academics with an international reputation to pursue their research at the EUI.

Fellowships last for up to ten months in one of the EUI's four Departments which in turn invite fellows to participate in departmental activities (seminars, workshops, colloquia, etc.).

Please be sure to apply for the correct deadline, as not every discipline accepts applications for both annual deadlines.

Grants Program for US Citizens

The program offers grants to U.S. scholars interested in conducting research on North Africa in any Maghrib country, specifically Algeria, Mauritania, Morocco, or Tunisia. AIMS sponsors three Overseas Research Centers in the region in Oran, Tunis and Tangier and has other institutional affiliations that support AIMS scholars.
