A graduate of Whitman College (B.A. Sociology) and Stanford University's School of Education (M.A. Sociology/Policy of Education), and a 3rd year EdM candidate at Teachers College in Leadership, Politics and Policy, Christine Baker-Smith works at ISERP in three capacities: as Co-Director of the Center for Research on Education, Engagement and Development, Program Coordinator of the Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences degree program, and researcher working primarily with Christopher Weiss. In her work with ISERP she was the former Program Coordinator of the Oral History Masters Program and was involved in the program's development. As a researcher, Christine's interests focuses on sociological issues of inequality and social stratification, a focus that has led her to spend significant time examining the national system of education and its effects on these issues today.
