Global Public Goods Provision

by Joseph Stiglitz

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) aims at improving the provision of Global Public Goods (GPG). Both, enhanced efficiency in production and more adequate levels of supply are urgently needed. The contributions of multilateral institutions, especially the World Bank Group (WBG), Regional Development Banks (RDB), and the United Nations (UN) to the collective efforts of providing GPG’s form the center stage of BMZ’s interest. To this end, IPD will advice BMZ on designing and advancing evidence-based political positions on corresponding institutional reforms that influence relevant shareholder and management decisions. This will be backed by policy-oriented research.
