Culture in the Social Sciences

This group seeks to analyze and develop social science work on culture. We both think through cultural explanations of social phenomena and explore how social processes impact the cultural life of human communities. The goals for this workshop are to create cross-disciplinary dialogue on cultural analysis in the social sciences, while providing a space for discussion of cultural work on campus. It is the hope that the forum will provide faculty and graduate students with the resources to develop their own work, as well as keep them abreast, through speakers hosted by the workshop, of research by scholars doing significant social science work on culture.
