Project on Security, Military and U.S. Society Seminar Series
Organization
- William McAllister and Allan Silver, Organizers
- Bethany Kell, Coordinator
Overview
In our series of seminars and workshops, people from Columbia and elsewhere present research at the intersection of U.S. civil society and the security/ military apparatus of the U.S. state. The project is broadly conceived- substantively diverse, methodologically and theoretically interdisciplinary-and aims to generate research and to contribute to public discussion. Presenters range from academics (faculty/ graduate students) to practitioners, and the research ranges across sociology, political science and history (among other fields). As both a seminar and a workshop, presentations may be of finished papers/ books or of research at some stage of development.
Talks convene the first and third Fridays of the month, from 2:30 - 4:00 in Room 270 of the International Affairs Building.
