Charles W. McCurdy Dissertation Fellowship in Legal History

Offered through a partnership between the University of Virginia’s Miller Center and the School of Law, the yearlong Charles W. McCurdy Fellowship in Legal History allows scholars to complete dissertations in legal and political history while in residence at the Law School.

Analyzing Relationships between Disability, Rehabilitation and Work (ARDRAW) Small Grant Program

The Social Security Administration’s (SSA’s) Analyzing Relationships between Disability, Rehabilitation and Work (ARDRAW) Small Grant Program is a one-year $10,000 stipend program awarded to graduate-level students to conduct supervised independent research designed to foster new analysis of work, rehabilitation, and disability issues, which may develop innovative and fresh perspectives on disability.

DeKarman fellowships

DeKarman fellowships are open to students in any discipline, including international students, who are currently enrolled in a university or college located within the United States. Only candidates for the PhD who will defend their dissertation in or about June 2018 and undergraduates entering their senior year (will receive bachelors degree in or about June 2018) are eligible for consideration for a 2017-2018 fellowship.

Fernand Braudel Senior Fellowships

Fernand Braudel Senior Fellowships provide a framework for established academics with an international reputation to pursue their research at the EUI.

Fellowships last for up to ten months in one of the EUI's four Departments which in turn invite fellows to participate in departmental activities (seminars, workshops, colloquia, etc.).

Please be sure to apply for the correct deadline, as not every discipline accepts applications for both annual deadlines.

The second half of the 20th century saw a shift from an international system in which acts of mass extreme behavior were considered unpunishable to one in which they are generally viewed as criminally culpable conduct. When events become public, the states where they occur are now beset by calls to either prosecute those responsible or allow an international court to do so.
