Preferred Vendors

ISERP affiliates usually use one of three categories of preferred vendors: Hotels, Travel Agencies, and Food Vendors. 

Preferred Hotels

Lodging expenses should not exceed $350 per night in the U.S., $400 per night in international locations.

COLUMBIA HAS NEGOTIATED RATES WITH FIVE (5) PREFERRED HOTELS IN NEW YORK CITY (PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR 2020 HOTEL RATES).). The preferred hotels are located throughout Manhattan and offer guests a variety of amenities. For additional information on the Columbia Preferred Hotels, including contact information, rates, blackout dates, a booking tool, and our collegiate reciprocity program can be found by going to the Columbia University Travel Portal and clicking on the link for Hotels.

Please note: The Lucerne and the Bell Claire have been temporarily removed from our list of preferred hotels in New York City.

Preferred Hotel Supplier for Domestic and International Arena

World Travel, Inc.’s Global Hotel Program partnerships, will give travellers immediate access to competitive rates at over 44,000 hotel properties across the globe, from boutique hotels to major chains. Partnership rates at participating hotels will automatically display in Concur as “Radius” rates under “Room Options” and may also be booked over the phone with a World Travel Counselor.

Conference Rates

  • When traveling to a conference at which a hotel conference rate has been negotiated, the room must be booked directly through the conference organizers or with the hotel in order to get the conference rate.
  • Conference rates cannot be booked via Concur Travel.

Preferred Travel Agency

Currently, Columbia uses One(1)  preferred Travel Agency_World Travel, Inc., WTI

To assist Columbia travelers in making business travel arrangements, consistent with Columbia’s travel policies, cost considerations, and preferences.

WTI services include self-service via the Concur Online Booking Tool (OBT) and assisted service over the phone via WTI Travel Counselors for reservations, including air, rail, lodging, and car rental, producing itineraries, e-tickets, and receipts. In order to book travel with WTI, travelers must maintain a travel profile that contains personal information.

Columbia designated Travel Counselors are available during regular business hours from  8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays).

Note the benefits that comes with the services provided by WTI cannot be accessed from these agencies. For instance unused flight tickets cannot be reused.
