Proposals in Criminal Justice Research

Open to Faculty and Postdoctoral Research Fellows in the Social Sciences

The Institute for Social and Economic Research and Policy is pleased to issue its call for funding made possible by former Dean of Social Science Prof. Fredrick Harris. The goal of this call is to support cross-disciplinary and/or interdisciplinary workshops, speaker series, or conferences that center on criminal justice research. The initiative is open to faculty and postdocs appointed within one of the six social science departments in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Columbia University and SIPA. Proposals will be evaluated on their intellectual merit and coherence and their judicious use of funding.

Below, you will find two separate calls: one for workshops/seminars, and another for conferences. For both, the deadline is April 15, 2024, and the award period is July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025.

If your events are scheduled to commence in spring and extend through the subsequent fall, we encourage you to submit your application during the second round call in the fall, which covers the period January 1 to December 31, 2025.
