You’re invited to join us in a workshop on January 28th to learn about all things grants!

ISERP is pleased to announce the launch of a new initiative to support social scientists in navigating the pre-award process, applying for, and identifying funding opportunities. In two sessions, we’ll cover the details you’ll need to find the funding that’s right for you and craft a successful proposal.

In the morning session, we’ll focus on the whos and the hows of funding, with presentations addressing:

  • Federal Funding
  • Private Foundations
  • Corporate and Foundation Gifts
  • Columbia’s Internal Funding
  • ISERP’s Funding
  • Post-Award (aka managing the funding once you have it)

In the afternoon session, we’ll focus on crafting a solid application with:

  • A faculty presentation on their experience in applying for and receiving grants
  • Breakout sessions for attendees to connect and discuss their proposal ideas with each other

If you want to participate in the afternoon section, please come prepared with an Aims or Abstract page for a grant proposal. You will be required to submit this page by January 21, 2026.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided. All attendees will have the opportunity to sign up on-site for 1-on-1 meetings with ISERP’s research development office.
