Join us for a one-day conference exploring the critical intersections of gender, human rights, and security, sponsored by the Institute for Social and Economic Research and Policy (ISERP).

The conference will feature 12 presentations by graduate students and early-career scholars from different universities, with topics including:

  • Justice and gender (from village courts in India to abortion law in Latin America)
  • Sexual violence in conflict and gang settings
  • Gendered securitization and migration policy
  • Climate change, trafficking, and transactional sex
  • Labor exploitation in humanitarian crises
  • State securitization, terrorism, and individual propensities toward violence
  • Gender-washing and authoritarian resilience

We also have both internal and external experts who will provide feedback and foster dialogue. The event aims to support innovative research and build scholarly networks at the intersection of gender, human rights, and security.
